I began serving with Child Evangelism Fellowship® of Washington in the summer of 2009 when I came to Whatcom County as a summer missionary intern. I married Rachel and we came on staff January 1, 2010, as full-time missionaries with CEF® as Children’s Ministry Specialists, teacher trainers and eventually I took on the title of co-director of CEF Whatcom County. Our primary ministry was to conduct 90-minute Good News Clubs® which are held after school in the elementary schools. At each club we presented the Gospel, a Bible lesson, verse and missionary story. Rachel and I, along with our twogirls have now been called by the Lord and commissioned by CEF International to be full-time missionaries to Colombo, Sri Lanka. Once there, we will be starting up CEF of Colombo, I will be their local director and we will build a team to reach the children of Colombo with the Gospel.
Our focus once we arrive in Sri Lanka is to train and equip local believers to lead weekly Good News Clubs for kids in their own neighborhoods. This is the same club ministry that we have been doing in Whatcom county for the past 9 years. Through GNC® we can evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, disciple them in the Word of God and establish them in local Bible-believing churches.
A basic need that CEF of Sri Lanka has is English-speaking teachers equipped and able to pour into workers and teach locals how to conduct CEF ministry outreach. For several years CEF of Sri Lanka has prayed for a full-time English-speaking worker who is willing to live and do ministry in Colombo, Sri Lanka. It is our joy to take on this role. This will be a difficult work because the island is mostly unreached with only 1% professing Protestant believers. Currently we are in a season of raising prayer and financial partnerships. We are looking for churches where we can share with missions-minded people our passion to bring the Gospel to the people of Sri Lanka.
